How to take "Special Course in Field Science I
& II" (Forest Science training)
Participation in a field training
program related to FOREST SCIENCE conducted by Hokkaido
University or other universities will be counted as one credit
according to the program. You can take two different programs
as "Field Science Special Course I" and "Field Science Special
Course II".
Please check here for the training programs
that are acceptable as "Special Course in Field Science I
& II" related to forest science (updated as needed). Other
programs may also be eligible for "Special Course in Field
Science I & II" depending on the contents. If you have any
questions about the FOREST SCIENCE training in this course,
please contact Prof. Agetsuma (e-mail: agetsuma

fsc.hokudai.ac.jp.). For aquatic science and agro-ecosystem science, please contact
the corresponding teachers.
How to take the course
1. Apply directly to the training
program you wish to participate in
For information on participation in
individual programs, contact the program faculty directly.
Some programs may not be open to students due to
prioritization (e.g., undergraduates have higher priority to
take the course) or limited enrollment. If you wish to confirm
in advance whether the program you wish to take is applicable
to the "Field Science Special Course I & II" as FOREST
SCIENCE, submit the content and schedule of the program to
Prof. Agetsuma to be checked.
2. Attend the program and receive a
certificate of attendance
Participate in the program in
accordance with the instructions of the conducting faculty
instructor. It is recommended to check in advance certificates
of attendance will be delivered.
3. Submit a certificate of attendance
and documentation showing program schedule and content
In the case of "Field Science
Special Course I & II" related to FOREST SCIENCE, submit
to Prof. Agetsuma.
Credit Approval
The course registration will be
accepted upon submission of a certificate of attendance and
documents showing the program schedule and content: no need to
register for the course on the web system. The deadline for
submission is early March for first-year master's students and
mid-January for second-year master's students. The program
schedule and content will be confirmed and credits will be
awarded.
